Dear Friends and Family,

Hello! Our names are Logan Duncan (Xavier College Prep), Lexi Wahlberg (Perry High School) and Leighton Fig (Xavier College Prep).

This year, we, along with our 24 team members consisting of high school peers and adults, are proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign for the Greater Phoenix area as the candidates of Team O Negative. This program acts as an incredible philanthropic and leadership-building experience for students in the Greater Phoenix community. Together, we are working to raise $201,000 for LLS’ mission to find a cure for blood cancer. We are raising funds in support of Research, an essential component for envisioning a world free from blood cancer. We hope that through your generous donation, we can achieve this goal for patients and their families.

Ever since their founding in 1949, LLS has been crucial in contributing to blood cancer research. LLS was founded in honor of Robert "Robbie" Roesler de Villiers, who passed away from leukemia in 1944 at only 16 years old. Ever since then, LLS has made it their mission to someday completely eliminate blood cancer. Since 2017, they have helped advance 70% of blood cancer treatment options approved by the FDA. In addition, since their founding, LLS has invested almost $1.8 billion toward innovative research in order to find the cure for blood cancer. 

LLS' mission is very near and dear to all of our hearts. Every single person has been affected by some form of cancer, so we all share an understanding of how devastating this disease can be for patients and their loved ones. We hope that through our team's fundraising efforts toward research, we can be the last generation to experience cancer.
